A lifetime desktop licence is normally paid once, in full, and is yours for good from the day the payment is verified. Some plans can also be paid in instalments: a first part when you start, and the rest on fixed dates after it, adding up to the same lifetime price. The MartPOS team can also agree a written schedule of its own with a business, for example for a larger shop. This guide explains how instalments work, what your store PC does between the parts, and what happens if a part is late.
Choosing to pay in instalments
- In the owner portal open Plan & billing (under Account).
- Under Choose a plan, open the Offline tab. A lifetime licence that can be paid in parts shows Or in instalments, with each part and when it falls due (for example, the first part at activation and the second 30 days after your first payment).
- Choose Pay in instalments. MartPOS makes the invoice for the first part only.
- Pay it by bank transfer, JazzCash or EasyPaisa and send the proof on the invoice page, as for any invoice.
The price and the schedule are fixed when the first part's invoice is made: if the plan's price changes later, your instalments do not. Choosing again before the first part is paid replaces the schedule; once a part is paid, the schedule runs to its end.
A schedule the MartPOS team agreed with you works the same way. The team starts it for you, and the first part's invoice reaches you by email and in Plan & billing.
Your temporary licence between the parts
When the MartPOS team verifies a part (but not the last one), your store PC gets a temporary licence:
- it runs until the next part's due date, followed by the usual grace days with full use;
- it has the plan's limits and features, exactly like the lifetime licence it becomes;
- the next part's invoice is made at once, with its due date, and you are told by email.
The temporary licence is not a lifetime licence yet. Account › Plan & licence on the store PC says Paying in instalments: the next part is due on … and that the licence becomes a lifetime desktop licence when the last part is paid, and Plan & billing in the owner portal shows a panel with every part: its amount, its due date, whether it is paid, being checked or still to pay, and its invoice.
If a part is late
Pay the part before its due date and nothing changes for the shop. If it is not paid by the due date and the grace days after it, the store PC pauses new billing, as it does for any licence that has run out:
- reports, exports and taking money owed (customer khata payments) stay available;
- your sales, stock and records are never deleted, on the store PC or in MartPOS Cloud;
- paying the part opens everything again at the store PC's next licence check.
When the last part is paid
Paying the last part makes the licence a lifetime desktop licence: it never expires, and the store PC keeps selling for good, online or not. Support and new feature updates (Care) run for 12 months from your first payment, when the licence was first activated, exactly as for a licence paid in one go. Plan & billing then shows the instalments as paid in full.
Common questions
Does paying in instalments cost more?
No. The parts add up to the same lifetime price as paying in full, and the schedule shows every amount before you choose it.
Can I pay the next part early?
Yes. Pay its invoice whenever you like; the part counts from the day the MartPOS team verifies it, and paying the last part early makes the licence lifetime at once.
Can I use a coupon or my credit on an instalment?
No. Instalments are at the plan's own price, so coupons, discounts and credit go on your other invoices instead.
What happens to my data if I stop paying?
Nothing is deleted. The store PC pauses new billing after the grace days, and reports, exports and receiving money owed stay available. Pay the late part to carry on.
Can I pay in instalments while I have a Cloud subscription?
Not while a Cloud subscription period is running. Pay the lifetime licence in full instead: your Cloud period then carries on on top of the lifetime licence until its end. Ask the MartPOS team if you need another arrangement.
