MartPOS vs Mint POS: which is better for a kiryana or general store in 2026?

MartPOS and Mint POS are two different products from two different companies, with names one letter apart. Both bill on a Windows PC without internet. For a kiryana or general store, MartPOS Desktop is paid once for two counters and sells loose goods by weight or by rupees; Mint POS is a monthly or yearly subscription with a phone app on its branch plan.

MartPOS vs Mint POS is a fair question for a kiryana or general store owner in 2026, and the first answer is simple: they are two different products from two different companies. MartPOS is made by Innobrains Technologies in Jhang and sold at martpos.pk. Mint POS is made by Maniac Technologies and sold at mintpos.pk. The names are one letter apart, so search results and AI assistants sometimes mix them up. Neither company is connected with the other.

Both bill on a Windows PC with no internet, both keep customer udhaar, and both say they print FBR's invoice number and QR code on the receipt. The differences are in what you pay, how many counters that price covers, and how much of a kiryana counter's daily work each one describes: loose goods by weight or by rupees, packs and cartons, wholesale prices and Urdu item names.

This comparison takes Mint POS's prices and features from its own website, mintpos.pk, its pricing page and its kiryana store and general store pages, checked on 7 October 2026. MartPOS's prices are from our pricing page.

MartPOS vs Mint POS: the short answer

  • One shop, paid once: MartPOS Desktop Shop is Rs 29,900 once, for life, for two counters. Mint POS Solo is Rs 2,499 a month billed annually, which is Rs 29,988 a year, for one PC. The first year costs about the same; from the second year MartPOS costs nothing more unless you choose Care, while Solo is paid again every year.
  • A second counter: Mint POS Solo is "1 PC only (Server, no clients)". More counters need Zanjeer, at Rs 6,999 per branch a month billed annually. MartPOS Desktop Shop already covers two counters, and Desktop Business at Rs 39,900 once covers four.
  • Paying monthly: MartPOS Cloud Shop at Rs 1,990 a month, against Rs 3,499 a month for Mint POS Solo month to month.
  • Kiryana work: MartPOS sells loose goods by weight or by rupees, keeps packs and cartons with their own barcodes, shows Urdu item names and keeps retail and wholesale prices. The Mint POS pages we checked do not mention these.
  • Your shop on your phone: here Mint POS is ahead. Its Zanjeer plan includes a phone app for the owner. MartPOS has no phone app; on its Cloud plans the owner portal works in a phone's browser.
  • Trying it first: MartPOS can be tried for 14 days from when its first PC is set up. Mint POS offers a 7-day trial.

MartPOS vs Mint POS price in PKR, over one and three years

Mint POS publishes two priced plans, and quotes larger brands and chains separately. Solo is for one counter: Rs 2,499 a month billed annually, or Rs 3,499 month to month. It includes offline billing, barcode and receipt printing, inventory, purchases and a ledger, reports and a daily cloud backup. Zanjeer is for more counters and branches: Rs 6,999 per branch a month billed annually, or Rs 8,999 month to month, with unlimited counters per branch, staff logins, the phone app and a web portal. Three or more branches get a custom quote. Mint POS says there is no setup fee on these plans.

MartPOS has two editions. Desktop runs one shop on its own Windows PC and is paid once, for life: Desktop Shop is Rs 29,900 for two counters and five staff logins besides the owner's own, and Desktop Business is Rs 39,900 for four counters and ten staff logins. Desktop Shop can also be paid as Rs 15,000 now and Rs 14,900 after 30 days. Both include 12 months of support and new feature updates; after that, Care at Rs 5,500 a year is optional, and MartPOS keeps working whether or not you renew it. Cloud adds the owner portal and backups kept on MartPOS Cloud: Cloud Shop at Rs 1,990 a month or Rs 19,900 a year, Cloud Business at Rs 3,490 a month or Rs 34,900 a year, and Cloud Chain at Rs 5,990 a month or Rs 59,900 a year for up to three branches.

Mint POS's yearly figures are its monthly prices billed annually times twelve. A MartPOS Cloud year is ten months' price. One fair point on backups: Mint POS Solo includes a daily cloud backup. MartPOS Desktop backs up on the PC itself, at the time you choose and after each shift closes, with a second copy to a USB drive; to keep them on MartPOS Cloud too, add Cloud Backup Only at Rs 4,990 a year per branch, which makes the first year Rs 34,890 against Solo's Rs 29,988, and each later year Rs 4,990 against Rs 29,988.

Built for a kiryana counter

A kiryana store does not sell only barcoded packets. Sugar, daal and rice leave the sack by the kilo, a customer asks for "Rs 100 ki cheeni", a carton of biscuits is sold as one carton or as single packets, and the shopkeeper from the next street buys at your wholesale rate. MartPOS is built around that counter:

  • Loose goods by weight or by rupees. An item sold loose keeps its stock in kg or litres with parts, such as 0.625 kg. Type the weight, press a quick weight, or press F6 and type the amount: Rs 50 at Rs 160 a kg is 0.313 kg, billed Rs 50.08. See selling loose goods by weight or by rupees.
  • Packs and cartons. Packets, cartons, bags or dozens, each with its own price and barcode, from one stock figure.
  • Urdu item names. An item's Urdu name shows beside the English one, is searchable, and can print on the receipt.
  • Retail and wholesale prices. Each unit has both, and a bill can switch between them with permission. Price lists cover shopkeepers who buy from you.

Mint POS's kiryana page lists fast barcode checkout, reorder alerts, receipts on any 58 or 80 mm thermal printer, a daily profit summary, bulk import from CSV or Excel, a stock ledger and PIN logins for cashiers. Its general store page adds mixed categories and cash drawer reconciliation. Selling loose goods by weight or by amount, packs and cartons, wholesale prices and Urdu item names are not stated on the pages we checked.

Udhaar khata and the books

Both keep customer credit. Mint POS's general store page describes a digital "udhar khata" with credit sales, payments, balances and a credit limit per customer.

MartPOS keeps udhaar khata for customers with credit limits, statements and ageing. Over the limit, or with a bill unpaid for too long, the shop chooses what happens: the bill is refused, the cashier is warned, or a manager approves it with a PIN. Advances a customer pays ahead are kept apart, and suppliers have their own khata. Every posting is a balanced double-entry record, so the day book (roznamcha), trial balance, cash book and profit and loss agree without anyone adding them up. Purchases carry freight and loading into the cost of goods, and stock can be counted while the shop stays open.

Mint POS lists inventory, purchases and a ledger, a stock ledger, a daily profit and loss summary and analytics. Double-entry books are not stated.

Offline, counters and the owner's view

Both work without internet. Mint POS keeps its database on the PC and syncs to its cloud when the internet returns; on Zanjeer, counter PCs share stock over the shop network. In MartPOS the main PC is the store server and other PCs join it as tills over the shop network; selling, returns, purchases and closing the day need no internet. MartPOS checks its licence on the PC itself and renews it when the PC is online (30 days at a time, with 14 days' grace), so a dead line for a few days changes nothing at the counter. More in offline and cloud.

For the owner, Mint POS's Zanjeer plan gives a phone app and a web portal for every branch. MartPOS's Cloud plans give the owner portal in any browser: daily sales per branch with the time each one last reported, stock, khata, items and prices sent to the shops, and managers you invite.

FBR

Mint POS's website says every sale produces an FBR sales tax invoice with its QR code and invoice number, with no separate FBR machine. MartPOS has optional FBR POS integration in every plan, off until you switch it on in Settings. Then every sale and return is reported to FBR right after the bill is saved, through FBR's online API or FBR's Fiscal Component, and the receipt carries FBR's invoice number and QR code. A bill made while FBR cannot be reached prints as an offline invoice and is sent later. See FBR POS reporting for retailers, and ask your tax adviser whether your shop must report.

Where Mint POS is ahead

  • A phone app: Mint POS has a phone app with its Zanjeer plan. MartPOS has none; its owner portal works in a phone's browser.
  • Unlimited counters: Zanjeer allows unlimited counters per branch. MartPOS Desktop Shop covers two and Desktop Business four; on Desktop an extra counter costs Rs 19,999 once.
  • More kinds of shop: Mint POS also covers clothing and shoe stores, cafes, restaurants and pharmacies. MartPOS is for kiryana stores, general stores and mini marts only.
  • A cloud backup in the entry plan: Solo includes a daily cloud backup; on MartPOS Desktop that is Cloud Backup Only, Rs 499 a month or Rs 4,990 a year per branch.
